a gift guide (jenny's version)
whether you have a wellness junkie, at-home chef/self-proclaimed 'foodie', soft gworl or beauty babe in your life - here are a few last min gift ideas for the holiday season
FOR THE ENTERTAINER / CHEF / ’FOODIE’:
For the person who loves to make food, eat food and ~casually~ entertain from time to time.
Fly By Jing Set: If I could put this sh*t on literally everything I would. If we’re getting honest, I pretty much already do. It’s a great way to take a boring meal to an interesting, elevated one. I’ve rotated through a few different chili oils, and Fly By Jing reigns supreme.
Fredericks & Mae Cutting Board: I found this one on Coming Soon NY, which is a cool decor and homeware shop on the LES. If you’re local to NY, definitely worth it to check out (and then go eat at Kiki’s after for some fire mediterranean). However, if you’re not local, you can buy from them directly online. Make sure to check out Fredericks & Mae’s site, they have a lot of cool cutlery and other kitchen accessories too.
Spring & Mulberry: Decedent chocolate bars that have really clean ingredients. Each bar has a really unique flavor profile that won’t hold a flame to your average grocery store chocolate (sorry, Hu, we still love you).
Whole Food Cooking Every Day: Great versatile cook book that has easy, healthy recipes that aren’t boring. Great for the plant-based people in your life.
Pocket Sea Salt: Hopefully you won’t have to use it while you’re out to eat… but like, good to have just in case, right?
Brightland Olive Oil: Elevated flavor. Delicious detail for any meal. Female founded.
De Soi: Delicious NA botanical elixir. Great for anyone who is sober curious, or loves a delicious sparkly drink. The Purple Lune is my personal favorite.
Maison Balzac Dot Coupes: Because why the hell not? So fun for a special occasion, or for making a not-so-special occasion a special one. :)
THE SOFT GWORL
The babe who often flexes her 9pm bedtime and full moon ritual.
CHANI Planetary Candles: Each are hand poured at an auspicious time for it’s respective planet. Great gift for the astrology babes who are into ritualizing their life and routine. Queer + BIPOC owned.
Higher Dose Serotonin Soak: Never have I ever experienced a more luxury bath soak. It feels like your bath instantly becomes spa-grade once you dump some of this in. A rich blend of magnesium and eucalyptus that will be the perfect night cap to a long day.
The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin: Literally everyone on the face of the earth should read this. Especially if they ‘don’t think they’re creative’.
Heart Talk: The Journal by Cleo Wade: Self care is the new revolution boo.
Japanese White River Incense: When I die burn this at my funeral. Lol. But for real, these smell sooo delicious and are not over powering. Great to elevate the scent of any space.
Diaspora Spices: Delicious, quality spices that are freshly milled and blended to make sure you’re getting max flavor out of every production run. They also pay their farmers 4x the commodity price to make sure their farmers are being paid an actual living wage. Queer + BIPOC owned.
Organic Olivia Herbal Tinctures/Teas: Blends that range from heart opening, hormone support, happiness, hair growth, bloat and more.
Rishi Tea for Two: Great for ritualizing your daily teas.
Kinto Japanese Inspired Glassware: Glassware that’s sexy as hell.
THE WELLNESS BABE
This was definitely inspired from an Ayurvedic standpoint.
Living Ayurveda by Claire Ragozzino: Great Ayurvedic recipes and rituals.
Rosewater Face Mist: In Ayurveda, spraying rose water over the face and eyes is an encouraged daily practice.
Copper Tongue Scraper: A game-changer for your daily routine. Stimulates digestion, naturally freshens breath and rids bacteria detoxified through the body that resides on the tonuge in the morning.
Loftie Alarm Clock: Your nervous system will thank you. Stop waking up to that annoying alarm on your phone that jolts you awake every morning. Loftie gradually wakes you up. There’s also meditations on there, and a white noise machine. I’ve also heard that Hatch is a good one.
Sattva: The Ayurvedic Way to Live Well: Hands down the most accessible book I’ve read for understanding Ayurveda in a modern world.
Surya Calming Body Oil and Epsom Salt Bath Soak: On the pricey side, but worth it.
THE CASUAL BEAUTY GIRLIE
For the girlies who love a good run to Sephora, love clear skin even more, but don’t go too HAM on the makeup.
Klur Gentle Matter Face Wash: Great for sensitive skin. Their whole line is non-toxic, amazingness.
Living Libations Best Skin Ever Rose Face Oil: I love all of their oils, but this one is my fave. The frankincense is a close second.
Wildling Gua Sha Stone: Great for lymphatic drainage and what I try and use to lengthen my time between botox visits (It’s working). It’s also nice to add this into my daily rituals. This is something I do out of love for myself and to take time to just be. It feels meditative and yummy and pairs really well with the Living Libations face oils.
Moon Juice Adaptogenic Sampler Pack: Herbal blends you can use in your coffee, smoothie, baked goods.
Wonder Valley Olive Oil Soap: Honestly their whole line is beautiful. I’ve only tried the soap but if I were you I would get a gift set for you to try too (so you can lmk lol).
Costa Brazil Sun and Moonlight Oil: Both are shimmery and luxurious and beautiful on the skin.
